However, at night is when the area really comes to life. One of the many attractions of this area at night is the glowing neon lights from all of the stores, shops, and restaurants.
The main attraction at night is the Wangfujing Night Market. The night market is located just off of the main shopping street. It is a huge shopping area that has street vendors selling many different Chinese products and souvenirs. There are also numerous food vendors lining the narrow aisles of the night market.
The food vendors sell everything from deep fried insects to scorpions on a stick. If you are not accustomed to eating exotic foods, you will enjoy, or be disgusted by, the people attempting to eat the many unique foods available. Not only do they have live scorpions on a stick, you will also find seahorses and silkworms, among many other rare foods. It can be a challenge just to identify some of the meats on display.
Wangfujing is a must-see destination if you’re going to Beijing China. Consider planning your visit so that you can shop during the early evening and try exotic snack foods at night. The crowded night market is sure to be a memory you won’t soon forget.
