This feature permits users to shoot their own team mates. While present in the game originally, it was removed to combat in-game toxicity Fortnite developer Epic Games said. Many Fortnite players assert they were murdered by their own teammates for their equipment or just to troll. “We had a different kind of game with more explosive weapons, with faster action that had come earlier as well. The first choice to turn off it was only an experiment. ‘Let us turn off this, see if it is negative. ”’
The Fortnite team in Epic Games considered that if the overall community response to eliminating friendly fire was adverse, it would bring it back. However, if fans had been fine with the movement, it could be pulled out of the game entirely.
“We’d theories about what might be influenced by [turning friendly fire] off and on, but you can look at things such as, ‘Can people play with more field games? ‘Were they playing more with friends? ‘Was the amount of deaths going down or up? “How do you tell what’s a general team kill? Another issue with team killing is the player thinks it is genuine, but it’s accidental. It isn’t important if they had been, however, because the emotional impact still conveys.
“If you think somebody did something on purpose, it doesn’t matter if it was casual. It affects your experience.”
Having an abysmal player base due to Fortnite iOS, other issues have cropped up such as server outages. How Epic manages these issues in the weeks to come will be interesting to see. Are you playing Fortnite? What do you consider this game? Let us know in the comments.
