Reliance Jio, the telecom operator which made its entry and shook the Indian telecom market, has again revised its strategies under the Jio Republic Day provide. The company is now offering 50 percent more data at Rs 50 less on its own existing plans.
The revised plans will be available January 26, 2018 onwards. All of present plans that provide 1GB info per day have been bumped up to provide 1.5GB data every day and the programs that were offering 1.5GB every day will now have 2GB every day limit. This means that programs at Rs 149per cent 349, Rs 399 and Rs 449 will all have 1.5GB information per day limitation using a validity of 28 days, 70 days, 84 days and 91 days respectively. Whereas, the plans at Rs 198, Rs 398per cent 448 and Rs 498 will possess 2GB data per day with a validity of 28 days, 70 days, 84 days and 91 days respectively. Each of the aforementioned strategies include unlimited calling advantages for both national and local calls.
Jio has also introduced a lesser entry price-point program at Rs 98. This program features 56GB data using a FUP limit of 2GB information every day and valid for 28 days.
These plans are launched as an answer to Airtel’s tariff changes, said the company in a statement. Airtel has been aggressively revising its plans to compete with Reliance Jio. Both prepaid programs at Rs 149 and Rs 399 will be the latest ones to be revised.
For your Rs 149 plan, Airtel is offering unlimited local and STD calls, 100 SMS per day and 1GB data for the period of 28 days. In terms of the Rs 399 plan, Airtel users get unlimited local and STD calling, 100 SMS per day and 1GB 3G/4G information per day for the period of 84 days.
Compared to Airtel’s plans, the currently revised Reliance Jio plans provide more data for Rs 149 and Rs 399 by 0.5GB at the exact same respective validity periods. We’ll have to wait and see how Airtel will counter these plans, and given the tendency, that should happen sooner rather than later.
