Samsung has sent samples of its Own Foldable display to Technology giants Apple and Google, Based on media reports.
The company would be a probable candidate for providing foldable panels to Apple because it supplies the majority of the OLED components for the iPhone XS and XS Max.
“Samsung is now able to produce about 2.4 million foldable displays each year, it’s considering ramping up to 10 million,” the report stated.
Apple has shown interest in foldable OLED for many years in the form of related patent applications. With the initiation of the Galaxy Fold, the company might now be under pressure to provide a competing product.
According to the report, 2019 iPhones are expected to keep stationary panels however, and the typical analyst view is that Apple will not have any foldable iPhones prepared until at least 2020.
